Material Gifts

Your in-kind gifts help The Hope Center to meet the needs of hurting people who come through our doors every day seeking assistance. There are many ways you can become actively involved in making a difference through your in-kind donations.

Recycling
  • Your donations of good, useable furniture, small appliances, books, household items, toys, clothing, shoes, and other items for sale in our Thrift Stores are greatly needed! Our stores help to provide operating revenue which allows The Hope Center to remain independent of government funding. Donations may be dropped off Monday-Saturday, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM at our drop-off center located on our parking lot off Church Street.
  • Go green … and help The Hope Center help others … all at the same time! We recycle your donations of cardboard, newspapers, and rags which helps to underwrite the programs and services offered. Our recycling center is open Monday-Friday 8:30 AM-11:45 AM and 12:30 PM-1:45 PM; Saturday 8:30 AM-11:45 AM
  • Food Drive – You can bless the poor and hungry in our community with a gift of food. Organize a food drive through your school, church, civic club, place of business, or Sunday School class. Food items needed: 16 oz. peanut butter, sugar, salt, black pepper, coffee, creamer, cereal, rice, green beans, peas, mixed vegetables, soup, Hamburger Helper and other boxed dinners, spaghetti, spaghetti sauce, cake mixes.
  • Personal Care Items – It has been said, “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” Something as simple as a bar of soap, a new toothbrush or hand lotion can make all the difference in the life of a lonely, hurting man or women. Your donations to The Hope Center will make a statement: “I care!” Please bring your donations to the Administrative Office Monday-Friday, 8:15 AM-4:30 PM or contact us to make other arrangements. Items needed: Deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant soap, disposable razors, shave cream, anti-bacterial hand gel, travel-size shampoo, tissues, hand lotion.
  • Paper Products – Your donations of paper towels, napkins, 6 oz. cups, and toilet paper will be a great help!
  • Donate your time! We need volunteers just like you! If you’ve ever thought about serving the poor and homeless, please give us a call. There are many ways you can help. Do you have a special skill or talent you would like to share? Request a volunteer application or contact us!
